My wife and I went to K E Binder to have our living room set re-upholstered. \r
The set consisted of a love seat, couch and recliner. \r
We also had a Corniss board re-done.\r
I talked my wife into letting KE Binder do it because I am a car nut and appreciated their craftsmanship restoring automotive interiors.\r
We were promised our furniture would be done within a ten-day period. We did not get our furniture back until after the third month.\r
This leads me to the old saying. \r
Don't order steak at a Coney Island restaurant. \r
If you want a good steak go to a place that specializes in steak.\r
Interiors for automobiles are pre-assembled kits sent from a manufacturer to job shops like KE Binder.\r
There they strip the old interior covers and replace them with the ones that were ordered. This is quite simple if that is your specialty.\r
With furniture it is, as you would say apples and oranges.\r
There are no kits for furniture and you need a person who specializes in the field of furniture restoring.\r
There has to be a person with the experience of restoring the given furniture to the original condition, as when it was new. When we gave K E Binder our furniture, (unknown to us), K E Binder did not have a person that specialized in furniture, so the owner asked the employees that work on cars to reupholster our furniture. The end result is, we have very poorly sewn seat covers in our living room.\r
Our furniture came to us in worse condition then when we gave it to K E Binder. \r
\r
Granted the guys working there did the best they could and were always very polite, but a company is only as good as their leadership. \r
The owner has yet to return our calls and leaves us to believe,\r
K E Binder does not stand by their work.\r
\r
Thank you for taking the time to read this.\r
Hopefully I will be able to write and let you know if there is a poitive out come and my feelings towards K E Binder changes.\r
\r
