We came here after a day at the Zoo and were pleasantly surprised to find a mellow atmosphere and a menu that had some interesting choices. The BF and I went for the cask beer while the BF's mom tried a lighter amber. Both were great. The Linkery's menu is divided between vegetarian choices, specialty/house favorites, and ""market specials"" aka new stuff. Two of our party went with the burger (Brandt beef, bacon, gouda cheese, onions, pineapple, beet root, and a fried egg on top. I'm sure I missed something that they threw it but those are the main ingredients) I went with the Cubano. Everyone was happy with the burger, I thought that the Cubano lacked a bit of flavor and could have used more of the spicy plum mustard sauce that came with it. The Linkery is considered a local eatery- the staff is friendly and helpful. The food tasted fresh and while not the ""best"" that I've had, definitely enjoyable. All in all a great alternative to trying to dine at any of the tourist prone joints at Balboa Park!
