We went into Universal Bikes today with great excitment. Today we called at 6 pm on Saturday when we got off work to see if they were open, the owner said they had just closed but that if we could make it in 5 minutes they would be there. On the phone we said that we were intrested in buying a bike that was 500 dollars. We rushed down to find a bike the owner picked. After riding the bike, I wasn't sold on the bike, it was the only option given to me and it was not great. The gears didn't shift smoothly and it just wasnt worth the 750 he wanted for it. Telling the owner that I wasn't sure, and I would let him know on Monday, came the huge bad attitude, used car salesman and high pressure game. He states ""I thought you were going to buy a bike?"" I expressed my concerns, his eyes roll with discust and he looks at the clock with drama as if it is so very late, it is now 6:35. His employee is still in the shop working on a bike and his 2 bike friends are hanging out, clearly as if the shop isn't shutting down anytime soon. My boyfriend then finds a 5,000 bike he is intrested in( and can afford) and has questions. The owner plays dumb and can't answer any of his questions about the bike because he is too involved in starring at me to manipulate me into buying this bike. I tell my boyfriend please put back the bike he is now intrested is, obviosly the owner needs to leave and say thank you, he says ""ya, whatever"" and rolls his eyes! Clearly not anyone that I would ever recommened or do business with. We talked in the car on the way home about what a bad experience we just had and how great we were treated from another bike shop down the street, We decided to see if they were open, they weren't but the owner was in the back and opened the doors, was SO helpful, not high pressure and we ended up spending 3,000 and were so happy! Be careful, Universal Bike is HIGH PRESSURE! Shop is organized, but owner has bad attitude!
Pros: Organized Big Shop
Cons: High Pressure, Bad attitude, feel like your being sold a used car by owner
