I have been in LA for a couple of years and have yet to find sushi that is anything close to what I used to find up In San Francisco. With all the rave reviews I thought I would try Katsu-ya and you know what...it was totally mediocre. Some of the appetizers were good, but at that price they damn well better be good. Fortunately we made a reservation, so we didn't have to wait for a seat, but it seemed like as soon as they sat us down they were rushing to get us out. Not a pleasant dinning experience at all. I just don't see what all the fuss is all about. I had a hard time giving this three stars, but since three stars means "average" I guess it fits. Leaving and seeing all those people waiting to get in made me wonder if they lacked tastebuds or if they just had way too much cash to burn...
