overpriced, overcrowded, no way out 6/21/2007

I joined the Spa after receiving a ""free"" 2 week membership. I was lured in to pick up the ""free"" membership and was talked into accepting a membership at a supposedly bargain price. I was also under the impression that I would be let out of my contract if I deployed or moved. \r So, here is the truth:\r 1. After work hours there are not enough cardio machines to accomodate all the members that want to use them. There is a waiting list and 20 min limit at cardio machines at the Eutaw location. (If I would have turned around and looked over my shoulder during the tour I would have seen the one small sign on the wall, but didn't turn my neck that far during the tour)\r 2. I tried to cancel when my long work hours wouldn't permit me to go to the Spa, and since I moved further from their location there were closer gyms.\r 3. Classes are sometimes cancelled without notice (I found this out after driving all the way to a location across town for a class)\r 4. Don't expect a quiet peaceful yoga environment, the sounds from the gym go through the walls, and the pool is next to the cardio/yoga room.\r 5. If the salesman says you can cancel due to deployment, this is false. They will freeze your membership and you will have that much longer of a contract when you get back. If you move you have to have mail at your NEW address to cancel, so expect to pay until you relocate and actually live in the new house and receive mail.\r Resist the high pressure sales tactics and check out other gyms, if you are still interested stop by after work and see how crowded the tiny cardio room is. Pros: ambience Cons: high price, not enough space, no way out of contract if you deploy with the military more
