Troubling practice 6/1/2007

Dr. Sethi seemed fine and knowledgeable at first. I had a psychiatric issue, and Dr. Sethi did much to help me overcome my ailment. After I was feeling better, however, he insisted that I continue to add more medications. I agreed at first, but when he insisted that I take even more medication, I told him that I was comfortable at the level I was at. He continued to insist that I would ""feel better"" if I took the extra medications he prescribed. When I disagreed, his demeanor became somewhat hostile. At times I would ask him questions and he would respond that I wouldn't understand the answers because of my inexperience in psychiatry. I accepted those terms because I was feeling better. Unexpectedly, Dr. Sethi told me that I would have to seek treatment elsewhere. Even though I had been doing great, he claimed that because I was ""resistant"" to his medication regiment, he did not want me to be his patient. I understood and left. I started to see another doctor and only then did I realize how poor a psychiatrist Dr. Sethi is. My current doctor answers all my questions and prescribes medication according to how I feel - not according to how he thinks I feel. If I tell my new doctor I am unhappy with the medication, he says, ""OK, lets try something different"" ? He doesn't terminate our relationship like Dr. Sethi. Pros: Seems good at first Cons: Troubling practice - Over medicates more
