DO NOT GO HERE - Will Break Your Shoes and Try to Cover It Up! 6/6/2007

I took a pair of dressy Gucci heels to have the rubber tip replaced as it had worn through, and I also asked if he could clean the cloth straps. I came back to pick them up, they were not ready, returned a second time, still not ready. No apologies or explanation. They were picked up the 3rd time, the straps were not clean (he claimed his ""cleaning materials"" didn't work on my straps) but I was still charged a cleaning fee. Then, a couple weeks later, I put on my shoes for the first time and the heel FALLS OFF. I did not trip or stumble, I was sitting down, and when I stood up the heel was not attached. Upon closer inspection, you could see on the damaged heel where the top of the sole had been pulled back and screws had been crookedly inserted and then resealed with cheap glue. There is a lump on the damaged shoe sole that does not exist on the other, where a pad was inserted to try to conceal the screws. There were even some damage done by the screws externally as well. He had obviously broken my heal while trying to secure the rubbert tip, and then attemted to poorly conceal it (which explains why it was not ready on two occasions) to aviod paying me damages for a $400 pair of shoes, and then forced me to pay not only for this ""service"" but also the cleaning ""service"" when my shoes were not even cleaned! His service charges were also twice as high as other stores I have used, but I assumed (wrongly) this would ensure quality work, and I wanted the best for my nicest shoes. Consequently, he ruined a pair of irreplaceable shoes, tried to cover it up, and will not accept blame. He was also extremely rude to me on the occasions I went in there. Do not by any means take any shoes to this store that you hope to get back undamaged. more
