My wife rented a Harley for the two of us to enjoy on my birthday during our trip to Napa. The rental went smoothly to begin with, we had a great time on the Harley (the V-Rod), and the owner, Mike, was very friendly. After returning the bike after our 24 hour rental, we were very happy.\r
Then, we got a call 4 hours later informing us that there would be a $25 charge for gas, since we had returned the bike with less than a full tank. This came as a surprise, since he had filled the tank as we were renting the bike, and there had never been any mention of an expectation for the bike to be returned with a full tank. Along with the cost of the rental ($215), I was led to believe that a tank of gas was included.\r
When I called Mike to explain the misunderstanding, I offered to return and walk the bike next door to fill it up. He was exceptionally angry with me on the phone and was completely unwilling to budge on the $25 charge, effectively charging me 4 times what it had taken for him to fill the tank (we returned it just under 1/2 full).\r
In summary, the bike was a blast, but our experience left us questioning the honesty and integrity of Neiman's business practices.
