Rudolph's bad experience 6/3/2007

If you've ever wondered the history behind the name of this ""fine restaurant"" I met him up close and personal. Rudolph the r oach decided to greet me personally at my seat.\r \r All joking aside, my family and I had reservations at Rudolph's. First time ever dining here after passing it numerous times coming to and from Gainesville. We were seated quickly. However as I took my menu and opened my napkin a large r oach came crawling from the napkin, down my leg, to the floor, and under a neighboring table. My father watched the whole thing happen in shock. I slowly stood up, pushed my chair in, looked to my mother and girl friend and said; ""We are leaving, there is a r oach."" I did not cause a scene, yell, scream, etc... but we did leave. As I walked out, the hostess asked if there was a problem. I said yes, there is a large r oach that greeted me at my table and we cannot dine with you tonite. She said (and I am NOT joking), ""It is just a Palmetto B UG"" (keyword B UG). I rolled my eyes and walked out.\r \r Generally b ugs, snakes, etc would not bother me because of my work I am exposed to this and much much more on a daily basis. But I guess it caught me off guard as I sat down to eat. I know the building is old and what not, but paying close to $14 per person on average, there is no way I want to share my dining experience with Rudolph the r oach... excuses me, PALMETTO I mean.\r \r Now, I can't rate the food, service, or value since this happened in all of 10 seconds of being there. But I will warn those going, that Rudolph will probably greet you too one day and if you're lucky he'll crawl down your leg as well.\r \r Thank you for reading :) Pros: Nice location, nice place Cons: B ug problem more
