On the road for business, it can be awkward enjoying fine dining alone. Not so with the kitchen and waitstaff at this very impressive location. The physical layout and personable staff (including chef himself) and loyal regulars make Restaurant Eugene feel very family-oriented. The food was clearly prepared from the freshest of ingredients and the most creative culinary talent. Although presented in a friendly and non-pretentious manner, make no mistake that Restaurant Eugene is fine dining and priced accordingly. That said, I would still pay twice the going rate for those B.L.T. scallops! I would recommend ordering a tasting menu - have chef Hopkins prepare your own personal Iron Chef style sampling of his (and his staff's) talent!
Pros: Fresh and innovative; spot-on service
Cons: No locations in my home town
