I went to the CVL for a friend's birthday getaway and we stayed for only one night. The hotel was very large and lavishly decorated. It was very "old money" and no corner was spared from decor and gaudy statues and furniture. There was an indoor and outdoor pool that were open all hours, which was nice. However a staff member questioned us about which room we were in and wanted our last name. I was quite annoyed that they thought we'd snuck in off the streets. The game room was very nice and wasn't crowded with other guests or children. You rarely find a pool table at a hotel and especially not one with free games. Overall it was nice and relaxing. But the staff was unfriendly and cold and it was over priced. I felt like all the money spent was to look at the decor. The rooms were standard- nothing luxurious or remarkable and definitly not worth $150. I would have preferred they didn't buy 200 paintings of fox hunts and spent them on plush bedding or decent toiletries instead.
