Wanting to provide a great meal on the bay for an out-of-town friend I took her here. It was a horrible evening! It was an HOUR before seeing a server, even after mentioning this to the server working at the table next us. We ended up getting our appetizers and drinks from the bar whilst still waiting for a server. Once it was realized we hadn't been served yet, the hostess came to take our order as no one else had. After the order was placed we still continued to get our drinks from the bar - still lacking a server - and bussing our own table. Once we spoke with the manager and explained to him our unhappiness with the service of the restaurant, he shrugged, said it was "out of season" and had many inexcusable excuses, once he left our talbe he moved on to the next one. Once a server had finally come we still continued to receive horrible service. This was BY FAR the worst dining experience I have ever had. The food is excellent but it may take a while for you to receive it, if at all. If you are looking for a nice bayside restaurant in the Bay Area, I would stay away from Castaway!
