I'm a busy woman in New York City, and I hardly ever have time to do things like spend hours in a lingerie store's dressing room deploring everything I put on because nothing ever fits correctly. I have the misfortune to have mismatched breasts- one is almost a full cup size bigger than the other. When I went to La Petite Coquette, my experience was miles beyond my expectations. My sales associate, Lila, had the positive attitude, humor, intuition and expertise necessary to make bra shopping a joy rather than a chore.
She asked the right questions, listened to my concerns, and, without ever putting a tape measure to me, brought me a beautiful demi bra from Aubade which fit like nothing I had ever put on before! She seemed just as happy as I was, and continued to bring me bra after bra, most of which actually worked. Those which didn't work were assessed by Lila quickly (she said "this is not the one," "this bra was not meant for you," and "i think we can do better for you.") She made me feel for the first time as if it was not my body's fault that my bras didn't fit; rather, it was the bras I had been buying which were not working on my behalf. It was a successful and moving experience all around. I left with 8 bras- including a STRAPLESS (!!!), an armload of bottoms, and a Spanx product.
She suggested that I purchase a book called "The Lingerie Handbook" in order to learn more about different styles of lingerie, and how things should fit. The book was an excellent suggestion- I did buy it along with my (as she put it) "brand new, wonderful, supportive things." The book has been a great guide to cleaning out my drawers and taking stock of what my wardrobe priorities are. I'll be back to purchase more new and wonderful things very soon.
Lila was also able to get me in and out, with all of my things, in about a half an hour! Perfect. I couldn't ask for more. Go there!
Pros: Stellar service!
Cons: None.
