Take it from a nisei who grew up summering in Japan. I had it once, and the sushi was mostly terrible. The hamachi wasn't fresh, the ebi was tough and overcooked, and we had some kind of a roll that was ugly, uneven, and drenched in a sickly sweet sauce that I don't recognize as remotely Japanese. Some of our nigiri came without wasabi. Only the high-volume fish - the maguro and sake - were good and fresh. What a waste of money.
Pros: maguro and sake were fresh and good
Cons: everything else was gross and not Japanese in flavor
