There is no such thing as perfection but Skipton Kennel and its owners come pretty darn close. You're never going to please everyone so an occasional bad review is inevitable. Our experience has been total confidence and satisfaction in the care our 'senior' dog has received, including attention to her various 'older dog' problems, from horrible hips to two blown knees and knee surgeries . . .and we are equally confident that they will give the same quality care to our newest four-legged family member this summer when she is almost 7 months old and we board them for a week. Exercised dogs survive just fine being crated. They don't need the socialization and romping that puppies do and the risks are not as great with puppy play as they are with older dogs with established personalities. (Just walking our older gal through the woods we have had two 'aggressive' dog incidents that required stitches for ours in both cases . . each time the owner was 'shocked' at their own dog's behavior. ) Older dogs with established personalities can be unpredictable so I I'm fine with her being crated tand exercised. The pup will need to romp and play with other pups and will have that opportunity. . .These are people who obviously love what they're doing, including a staff that really enjoys working together, and, most importantly, our older girl always comes home happy-go-lucky and somewhat reluctant to leave them, which wasn't the case with other kennels. Finally, early on in our association with Skipton we had a death in the family and had to travel out-of-state -- they accommodated us at the last minute without even a moment's hesitation. When I dropped her off before going to the airport, not only did I get reassurance that our girl would be fine, I got a huge hug of condolence that was truly genuine. . .these are quality people with much to offer your 4-legged family members. I recommend Skipton without reserve.
