I went to Amazon to meet a friend who is absolutely gaga over its martini menu and the establishment in general, and was I disappointed. The "rainforest" atmosphere is simply tacky and dingy. The service was very prompt but the fare was godawful: i ordered the "herb quesadillas" which consist of greasy, brittle tortillas filled with what tasted like boiled greens...and did I mention NO CHEESE? I also tried my friend's nachos, which also seemed to lack cheese and were just covered in runny sour cream. As for the martini menu, it is enjoyable if you are the type who cares more about cocktails' tasting "yummy" than having any kick (oatmeal cookie martinis, etc). With all the other nightlife options on Ventura Blvd, you can afford to skip Amazon.
