Draper Historic Theatre has gotten even better over the years. Their shows are great - even those with all youth in the cast (about two shows per year). I was kind of a theater snob - I only wanted to see "professional" theater but I am amazed at what can be done on a small stage with "part time" actors - people who are teachers, lawyers or office managers by day. I guess these people have "art" inside of them too and can interpret their roles as effectively as the big-timers. They just aren't going to give up their "day jobs"! The performances and intimate venue engage the viewer. The kids shows are amazing. I always leave them feeling like there is hope for the world and grateful there are people who volunteer to give the kids such a great outlet for their talents and energy. (Don't tell the youth that theatre is an "anti-drug") Also - it seems the non-profit board carefully selects each season to be family friendly and inoffensive. It seems their seats are filling up pretty well for the past few years. I hope the valley continues to support these kinds of productions or soon we won't have any good choices left. The prices and discount offers are great too!
Pros: Unique, enjoyable, family friendly
Cons: Building a bit old but cool and funky
