I have mixed reviews of Buena Animal Hospital. The first time Dr. Bernard saw my dog was for a health certificate to take my dog out of the country. I thought Dr. Bernard was nice. She was very talkative but a little overbearing for my tastes. She wanted to get some tests done and I thought they were not necessary and declined them. The next time I made an appointment I asked to see one of the other doctors...Dr. Jan or Dr. Jill. I needed help removing some foxtails and other plant matter. I asked for them because they seemed to listen better and were better at putting me and my dog at ease. That day Dr. Jan was in a hurry to leave for a vacation and didn't get everything out of my dogs paws so I had to come back and see Dr. Bernard. Dr. Bernard did a thorough job of cleaning out my dogs feet of the irritating plant matter and foxtails. She seems very caring but she did leave my dog's feet overly cut up and in bandages for almost a week. Although the cuts have since healed my dog still seems to have some lasting sensation there because he licks his feet a lot. This clinic is clean and the people are nice and you're going to pay for it. Every appointment I've had at this clinic has at least cost me $150.00 and usually much more. I've had my dog neutered there and some of the stiches didn't hold up from the start, so he had to wear a cone a lot longer than other dogs and take medication to prevent infection. This clinic has been good about clearing up a couple of ear infections and scooting problems but hasn't been that great at removing foxtails from my curly haired dog or with my dog's neutering.
Pros: great location, smells and looks clean, nice people
Cons: i've rarely had a problem resolved with one visit
