How could she not tell me? 4/3/2007

My experience with her lead me to believe that she did not really care about me, more about collecting my money and fending off law suits. \r \r I went in for a simple check up on my moles to make sure there were no signs of developing skin cancer. She persuaded me into extra pricey double-checking (you are charged per mole, and we looked over each of my MANY moles), that looking back, I'm sure she can recognize which moles look potentially cancerous, and which ones don't. \r \r The real disappointment was when she went ahead and did a small surgery to remove a mole on my breast. I was horrified of scarring badly- I have always seemed to scar bad in the past- and I told her this. She went ahead with the surgery herself, not recommending the plastic surgeon. As it healed, I asked if it looked okay- if it was healing properly- and she literally said nothing. Then I asked, guessing that it may be too early to tell: ""Does it look good for this stage in healing??"" Her NURSE ASSISTANT said ""yes.""\r \r MONTHS later, talking to a nurse friend of mine, she noticed my scar and was surprised at how horrible it looked. She said, surprised- ""You keloid scar??"" This is the first time I had heard this term. (It's a bubbling of scarring, it's a disorder where your skin practically quadruples the size of the scar.) So, I was informed- not by MY DERMATOLIST, but by my friend, that it was a huge, ugly scar, and that I have a special scarring disorder!!!\r \r This made me absolutely sick to think that Marcia Glenn is employed to help people with their skin, and they put their trust in her. The only logic I can make of her not informing me of my scar issues is her wanting to avoid a law suit. How horrible. Pros: Friendly Cons: I'd be afriad she wouldn't let you know if somethings wrong. more
