My mother and I went to Mirabelle for lunch--perhaps this was a poor desicion since Mirabelle specializes in pastries. However, we saw it had recieved 4 stars in the Sacramento Bee and decided to give it a go. My mother ordered an Oriental Salad and I had a turkey sandwich. She disliked her salad a lot and stopped eating it after a few minutes. My sandwich was ok, but very bland. It came with a side salad, which was drenched in what I guess was their house dressing that I did not care for. I only ate half my sandwich and only a bite or two of the salad. My mother complained of the poor quality to the staff, but they did not seem to care--all of the staff that day were kids that didn't seem to know how to handle customer complaints. We were so umipressed with the food quality and unhappy with the staff that we did not sample any of the pastries, which looked delicious. Perhaps they should stick to pastries. Needless to say, we will not be going back.
Pros: nice cafe feel, good presentation
Cons: poor quality food
