I ended up at this place after my regular vet screwed up a diagnosis of my cat's eye after a fight, and finally had to take my cat to the Central Texas Veterinary Hospital on Frontier Trail when his eye started bleeding one night. \r

CTVH did a great job of diagnosing it as a corneal ulcer and getting treatment started...but didn't give me a referral to a specialty opthamologist like Millichamp for follow up---and neither did my main vet. I found out about Millichamp's clinic by accident...and referred myself. It's all very political between these vets and clinics....Your regular vet may not want to give up the business- but last time I checked, Millichamp's clinic is going to make you get a referral, because he is a specialist. So you have to finesse that---I think if you tell Milllichamp's clinic you are already positive it's an eye problem, they can find a way to get you in....In any event, what I appreciated about Millichamp is that he has a great beside manner, really knows his stuff, and managed to do a great diagnosis of my cat. Another vet at this clinic (who is no longer there as of this review on 4/07)--scared the wits out of me, and told me the cat would likely lose his eye, but immediately wanted to do surgery. By accident, Millichamp was scheduled to do the surgery since the other vet was gone that day. But before it commenced, he looked at the cat's eye and decided the surgery wasn't necessary!!!! How's that for honest? In addition to being more circumspect about rushing into surgery, he was also very reassuring--which I appreciated both for my cat's health--surgery is really traumatic--and for my pocketbook. He felt the eye would get better on its own with supervision and antibiotics, which it did. And btw, the cat's eye looks great now. Millichamp teaches at A&M, as does his wife, Dr. Dziezyc, on several weekdays. I drove the cat from Austin to A&M one day for one of the follow up appointments so I could make sure to continue seeing him.
Pros: Loved Dr. Millichamp-A&M prof, knows his stuff, great with the pets.
Cons: Office had just moved locations and it was a bit chaotic--hopefully resolved by now
