All of these reviews look mysteriously like they are written by the owners and friends of, so me, not being either of those, i thought i would leave a message that people used to reading these can hopefully trust. the food is fantastic. this isn't really a romantic place though, the tables are extremely close and nothing says romance, but that in no way is to say this isn't a great date place. there is a difference. the menu is small, but they do every single thing perfectly. my fave is the seafood pasta, you can choose the pasta type and sauce on it and they are nice enough to add mushrooms or anything i ask if it is in house. i also love the fish special which is usually tilapia baked in some sort of white wine sauce. it is always perfect. i think my only complaint there is the side of vegetables is greasy. they would do better with something steamed or grilled with less oil. there is also a sushi guy there that makes fresh sushi, i have never tried it nor seen him roll or prep any, but in a place like this, if he weren't earning his keep, he wouldn't get so much valuable floor space, so i'm sure he is good just based on economics alone. don't go here after sundown on friday or all day saturday because this is an orthodox jewish neighborhood and it is a religious day for them so it's closed. i say this because i really think this is a place to try if you are not from this area, i found it while apartment hunting and partially decided to move here because of this place. the q train stops on ave j. it stops just 1 medium and 3 short blocks away. they deliver and you can call in an order. parking is on the street at a meter. and the kitchen is exposed. a cute touch, they do art in your hot chocolate foam. oh yeah, bring cash or a check book, yes a check book, cuz they don't accept any plastic.
Pros: they know how to bake fish!
Cons: closed on friday eve and sat. all day
