I was recently traveling to SF for business and ventured out for a quiet dinner by myself at Cafe Andree (based on the good reviews I read). I was pleasantly surprised by the quaint little restaurant located in Hotel Rex and the attentive, but unimposing service. I had a wonderful churrasco steak (tender slices of beef atop trumpet mushrooms and vegetable ragout - braised to perfection, wonderfully sweet and tender chunks of a variety of root vegetables, interspersed with fragrant mushrooms) accompanied by a glass of pinot noir. I would definitely return to this place in my future visits to the City. One interesting thing of note is that there were a lot of women dining alone in this place - I suppose I can see why - good food, quiet, peaceful atmosphere, but still worthy of notice.
Pros: Quaint location; Good Food
