I discovered Shiraz a little over a year ago. What a gem! The atmosphere is serene and elegant. The staff is friendly, pleasant and professional. The owner (and chef) is customer oriented and is willing to customize every order. The food is among the best I've had in the world. My job involves constant traveling and I have dined at many top restaurants in Paris, New York, Milan... Shiraz is right up there. Fresh ingredients, culinary creativity and attention to detail result in memorable meals. I go to Shiraz at least once a week when I am in town and every friend that I have taken with me has fallen in love with this place. My all time favorite is Fesenjaon; chicken cooked in walnuts and pomegranate puree. A friend of mine ordered it based on my suggestion but didn't care for it as much because he doesn't like sweet flavors. He was eating it slowly and our server noticed that he wasn't enjoying his meal. She asked him how his entree was and he said fine. Our server notified the chef of her hunch and the chef came out to talk to my friend and insisted that he try something else. The chef said that it was ""important to enjoy every bite of your meal with all your senses. I don't want you to just eat here, I want you to excite your taste buds""- I love the attitude that Shiraz has towards dinnig and it's customers. If you haven't eaten here, you haven't excited your tastebuds!
