This is by far the best steak house in LA. While the Lodge is a bit hipper, Dan Tana's funky old school, the food service and quality is unparalleled at Mastro's. The waiters are extremely professional. Even the seafood is amazing, particularly their selection of oysters and the seafood tower. The martinis come on dry ice and the steak plate is actually still sizzling. The bread is extraordinarly, particularly the pretzel type bread. I am generally a lighter eater, but I love this place. The side dishes are huge, great for sharing. Upstairs is quite noisy and it's where the action is, but if you want a quieter spot to talk, downstairs is great as well. I plan to be a regular here!!
