I fell into the hype of this place, and went with my husband a year or so ago. But, since my experience is quite fresh in my mind, I decided to post a review so as to deter others from my same fate. To preface, I cook with a lot of garlic, so I thought it would be an enjoyable experience. How can a restaurant that specializes in garlic dishes ruin garlic? I anticipate that they burned the garlic which, in turn, made it quite bitter and intolerable. I couldn't look at a chicken for days, not to mention being traumatized by the smell of garlic. Perhaps it was because the entire restaurant was empty on a Friday night, and since we were the only customers, the chef was likely not careful with his food preparation. The fact that we were the only diners should have tipped us off. This place was not what I expected, and I would not recommend this restaurant. It is not on par with the fine restaurants and delicious fare that Corona del Mar is known for, and should be taken off the venue.
