I got a bridesmaids dress altered last minute here and asked for the bust to be taken in and the darts in the behind taken in. The dress was a mermaid style cut, and needed to be form fitting throughout. Woman told me that shortening the straps and taking in the sides would solve the problem. Guess what? It didn't. I struggled the entire 2 hour ceremony to keep the front from buckling out. The dress looked terrible.
