I rescued a greyhound in 7/2005. In 5/2006 he started limping in his right front leg. I took him to his regular vet that assured me that they knew about greyhound care since it is very different than other dogs because of their lack of body fat and so on. She assured me that it was an old racing injury and I should not be concerned. The lameness continued to worsen and I called my bosses wife that works at BRAC. She told me to bring him in that same day. Within 20 minutes and two xrays later we knew the sad truth. The lameness was bone cancer. A disease that strikes more than 30% of racing greyhounds. I had to put him down right away. They took care of me and my Chase! They were so good to him and to me. I will never forget how they helped comfort me in my decision and explained in detail other options. Unfortunately, it was caught too late in my opinion to have given him a half way decent chance at a few more months. I won't make another mistake like that again. I will n
