stopped by on sunday for late lunch turned out to be early dinner (the didn't open till 5 but did note that they were open for lunch during the weekday). The waitress was great with her recommendations - very honest and candid when I asked her about certain dishes. She was excellent - we were the only table and that can be a good or bad thing when it comes to service - she got it just right. Try a different quesadilla made with fried cheese insted of a tortilla and topped with a great salsa. the tuna ceviche isn't your typical peruvian style - it is chunks of tuna with triangles of avocado and cubes of mango in lemon juice - excellent twist I think. The hummus and olive tapenade were fantastic as was the shrimp bisque. Rather than completely puree'd bisque, the soup still had a bit of texture to it and was topped with cayenne pepper, making it a nice spicy dish (i adore spicy food in the hot weather). I added the meatballs for a heartier dish and they were excellent. All washed down with a pitcher of white sangria, four of us ate for about 100$ and competely satisfied. We didn't try the mushroom in philo which I regret, but we did finish off with a SUPERB bread budding made with a croissant. It is a delicate and fancy upscale dessert - the rich mans cinnabon. It seems wrong to compare it to a tragic cinnabon but thats immediately what i thought of. Served with ice cream it was the perfect end to a grand vacation. The music was covered putamayo soundtrack coming from the grocers across the street. When they turned it off we went over and asked them to turn it back on - it was a perfect soundtrack for early dinner. Being of latin decent I can never get enough of those beats ...
