Second Generation Jail 12/3/2007

The Bay County Court house and jail are connected by a tunnel from the jail to the back of the court building. Inside is three holding cells, one for men and one for woman, while they wait for their trial. The jail has direct supervision with officer's pod stations and seperate area for female detainee's. There was an escape, a few years back, from the second story window but the suspects were apprehended. Camera's and monitors around the outside perimeter. Working in the jail takes a personality that can adapt to many cultures and races of people, and understand that effective communication is the key for being a safe and sucessful correction officer. Overall, it is a facility that suits the community and the court house is one of the best with security and metal dectectors right at the door. Please do not bring your cell phone. Pros: Parking, community involvement Cons: escape attempts and success more
