I've worked down the street from Le Veau d'Or for 17 years and just had my first (hopefully of many) delightful lunch here. $20 for a delicious three-course lunch is amazing, especially when the choices are numerous, the food delicious and the portions perfect. The space is a mid-century time vault and should be on everyone's list of places to try - who knows how much longer the owner will be around? Speaking of which, Robert & daughter Cathy are just delightful. Check out the review & interesting history in ""The NY Sun"" newspaper on line.
Pros: Delicious French fare, attentive staff, fascinating owner
Cons: I didn't find it sooner.
