Having moved here from a city where I patronized a third generation baker from France, I was hopeful that this bakery could become my standby in Richmond. I found, however, the items I ordered (creme brulee, fresh fruit tart and strawberry mousse tart) to be average at best. Having gotten used to the buttery flakiness of the crust a ""true"" French baker, I was sorely disappointed. My son, who only will eat cake from our previous baker, even commented that his strawberry confection was ""ok"" but not great.\r

For a city where the most popular place to buy baked goods is the grocery store, this is a little bit better. But my choice overall would be the Deserterrie in Midlothian.
