I am new to the city and randomly chose Dr. Berger from a list of physicians that my insurance covers. I called and thought I had the wrong number when my call was answered was a casual, ""Hello!"" I had not misdialed, Dr. Berger answers his own phones and he does so as if it were his own personal phone number. He managed to see me the next day, which I was grateful for but I now believe he is so accomodating because there is no way this man can keep patients. On my first visit he answered his cell phone and sang happy birthday to his daughter during my consultation. I wish I was kidding. During the exam, he was casual and made several jokes that I found demeaning and unprofessional. His receptionis, Lisa, was present during my first exam per my request, but was never present during subsequest exams in spite of my initial request. I have been left- mid exam- with the door ajar with my feet in the stirrups and a speculum where speculums go for minutes. When I came in for a follow-up exam, instead of running cultures, like any other professional doctor would have done, Dr. Berger just took a guess, wrote a prescription at the front desk, and left without giving me time to even ask a question. \r
Lisa, his completely unhelpful, always too busy to answer a question, rude and unprofessional receptionist is a whole other story unto her own. I have gotten off of the phone with her in tears of frustration at having not gotten a single answer to a simple question. Instead of being helpful or understanding, Lisa seems to take a certian amount of pride in being unknowledgable, lazy, and unwilling to get back to you. Also, I was stupid to not be paying attention to my insurance information and have paid 20 dollars cash per visit when my co-pay is only 15. I never got a reciept and my records show simply that I paid my co-pay, not that I paid too much. \r
Bottom line, I cant stress to any one considering seeing Dr. Berger how much of a mistake that truly is.
