Good start,bad ending 11/27/2007

At first I liked where I was moving. The location and remoteness was appealing. Service is great and the staff is always willing to help the tenants. You pay a premium for these digs and you should get your money's worth. The problem with this complex is that it is literally built on a giant ant farm. They start showing up in the summer and never go away. The staff denies that it is widespread. I asked all my neighbors and sure enough they experienced the same problem. So I went 4 months with numerous visits from the exterminator and still ants galore. The other problem is the walls are paper thin. Keep the music to a whisper or your neighbors may take issue. Then unfortunately, the water heater blew. I was out of town and it soaked the living and dining rooms. They immediately replaced the water heater and changed out the carpet pad. They insisted the carpet did not need replacing. Drying it for fans over the weekend would do the trick. This isnt Burger King, you cant have it your way. The last snafu was the security deposit refund. As stated in the lease they promised to refund the unused protion of the security by the 21st day after move out. Wrong again. Its been 27 day and still have not seen my deposit. I feel like sending them a $50.00 late fee which they charge for a late rent payment. Probably not worth my time. I am sure all rental properties have pro's and con's. But in this case I look back and truly believe I should have drove right by this place and kept looking, because it really wasnt worth the premium rent of $2,000 the first 6 months and $2,065 the last 6 months. Pros: interior fixtures Cons: ants, poor insulation more
