I have been to Taverna Plaka a total of 4 times and have had widely different experiences each time. The first two times I went the experience was great. The food was excellent and so was the service. The third time I went was with a large group for a friend's birthday. My experience that time was absolutely terrible. The waitress was rude and most of the dishes she brought out were incorrect. She gave us two plates of one item when we had only ordered one. She then tried to charge us for the 2nd plate. After much arguing (the waitress actually yelled at us and stormed off), we had a manager come over who wasn't any nicer. That's when the waitress suddenly had an epiphany and remembered that we had not ordered the 2nd plate. She apologized and bought us all drinks as a way of saying ""I'm sorry"" but it was too little too late and we had already turned sour to Taverna Plaka. I went again a few months ago with some friends. The food was excellent as always but once again the service was poor. Our server was moonlighting as a bartender at the same time so he was hardly ever at our table.
Pros: great food, fun atmosphere
Cons: service is way too varied - either really good or really bad
