After searching all the area universities and art museums for a class that would engage my very particular 14-year daughter during our week-long stay in the Bay area last summer, we were thrilled to discover SewNow! Susan Goldie's fashion sewing classes that included customized patterns, individualized design elements, and right-sized projects were beyond our expectations delivering Project Runway fun and ""schway cool wearable art."" The teacher was terrific providing the perfect mix of instruction, technique, genuinely warm encouragement, and freedom so important for artistic and temperamental teens!

Cons: Out of the way location - but accessible by BART (Lafayette) and near freeway exit
