I wanted to experience this restaurant because of the positive reviews I saw on the internet, however, I was quite disappointed after eating there. For starters many dishes are not authentic Sicilian (as I am from Palermo) many of them come with the italian name and with a mixture of Italian ingridients, however, added by the owner's own imaginative touches which some may argue are bizarre. The basic bread is tasteless and the olive oil used of cheap quality. Again, if you think this is proper Sicilian cousine then you have all a lot too learn...I did not get a feeling of experiencing Scopello as the music theme was ''loungy'' and wanna-be trendy so it absorbed some of the decor more ''paesano'' feel...For all of you out there, here this is NYC you can do much better!
