Busy lunch hour with several errands in the neighborhood. It's late, but some tasty Thai food to take back to the office sounds so good. I wait at least 10 minutes to place my order while the hostess converses with two customers paying their bill. Finally my turn to place an order. How long will it take? Only about 10 minutes, she says. Oh, well, I've already invested 10 minutes, I can wait that long. I wait. Now the 10 minutes have long passed. People coming in, going out, ordering, waiting, and here comes a to-go order. Yay, at last. No, not mine, it's for someone who seems to be a long lost friend of the hostess. The chatting goes on. They leave. I ask about the status of my order: ""half done,"" she says. Minutes continue to tick past. Now at least 40 minutes into the process, still no food, and the hostess is making rounds through the dining room, stopping at tables to chat. She ignores my signal. I finally give up and leave.
