I've been to this place quite a few times. I go back because most of the time I get good service and most of the time the sushi is great. It's weird though...sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. Best bet is go to the sushi bar. The kitchen food is ok..but not great. The firecracker shrimp is good but tempura shrimp was a rip off. It tasted good but too expensive. And the sushi..find the right one to sit in front of and go there on none busy times... Far better service and food when they are slow. If you go on slow days and none peak hours..the sushi can be incredible. As far as freshness, variety, and creativity no other place competes...not even one of my other favorites waraji. Waraji has good food and are consistant. Mura can be one of the best and the worst. Take my advice and go on slow hours, usually early evenings are best bet. If you have a problem...don't bother asking for the manager. I had several bad encounters with him. He doesn't seem like he cares if we are happy or not. I usually dine at mura about once a week so I am familiar with the manager. Don't bother asking for him...it will just make everything worse. Half the time I see him he's smoking or drinking. Have enough consideration for customers to atleast pop a tic-tac after you smoke. Even on busy times he sits at the bar or the couch and does nothing. Maybe it's just coincidence and I just catch him on a bad time everytime I'm there. This restaurant can be a great place. I wish the owner steps up and takes care of his management. He might even consider getting a manager from mcdonalds. Seriously.
Pros: Beautiful place, great sushi most of the time...go on none peak hours.
Cons: Not consistant..it can be the best and worst dining experience.
