It was my wifes birthday and I wanted to surprise her and take her to a new restaurant for a new experience. At first, I thought this would be a great experience because the building (inside and out) is very charming and the perfect place for a romantic dinner.
We waited about 10 minutes and the server came to our table and asked if we were ready to order. We ordered a glass of wine, glass of beer, bread and potato dumplings and our main course. After another 10 minutes the server brought our drinks and bread (this was the best part of the meal except for the quantity of wine, which was a small glass filled half full).
Then the real wait started..... 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, then 30 minutes. Finally after 35 minutes our meal arrived with no appetizers (the potato dumplings). We advised the server and she said it was not her fault, that it did'nt print out in the kitchen. She advised us that she would comp our bread order.
Now for the meal, my wife ordered the special (beef tips in sauce) that was recommended by the server and I order the veal schnitzel. The food was at best poor to average.
The fest part of the meal was the beer, which was good.
When we received our bill (over $86.00), the bread was not comped.
As my wife said, it is the thought that counts.
