I went in sort of unsure since this was Gaylord for many years and the food there was very average. As the meal unfolded, I came to realize this place was very special. The chef clearly knows what he is doing. Now, it's not traditional Indian at all. Some of the spices have been paired down for American palates, but they've accomplished this without sacrificing flavor. It's also not served family-style. I would highly recommend the lamb kebobs, the seabass, the crab cakes, the raita appetizer, the bread basket too for variety. Desserts utilize Indian spices as well, and they were good but the real deal was the apps and entrees. Someone also put a lot of thought into the wine list. It's not your typical Mondavi. There are actually wines on there that pair with the food. Full bar too, with interesting cocktails and Charbay vodka. The lounge features Indian fashion shows, Bollywood films and ... sports sometimes.
Pros: great food, good drinks and wine list, very nice servers, pretty place
Cons: parking on la cienega, prices a little high
