My girlfriend and I wanted to try a new restaurant...so we chose Harvey's Bistro. There website looked great, there atmosphere fit what we were desiring and we had never been there and wanted to try a new place. We met another couple there so we made dinner reservations at 7:30pm. I had to call and push it back an hour and got a hard time from the host. If he couldn't have changed it we would have canceled which would have been ok however he changed it. He called while we were on the way and gave us a hard time and wanted to make sure we were coming. He was so worrited about us getting there as if they were packed. When we got there I think the restaurant had about 6 tables sat and the restaurant was empty.
The server was below average in his personality and attentiveness. He had no emotion and really gave me the impression that we were a bother to him and his restaurant.
The atmosphere from the staff screemed of gay tendancies which is fine up until another server pranced through the restaurant in a cowboy hat, shirt and scarf and made reference to "broke back mountain". This server then came up to our table, interrupted our conversation and dining experience. This sercer, that was not assigned to our table, made gay comments and as I politely however clearly asked him to "go away" basically made the statement for me to "get in touch with my feminine side". I WAS in touch with that side, with my Girlfriend sitting next to me.
The food was NOT impressive and was OKAY....for that quality of food it was overpriced and it seemed that the restaurant staff was more interested in possibly closing early and getting out of work to go out and party downtown Orlando before it got to late.
I made this experience known to the Management Staff and got a response of basically "sorry". I didn't want a free meal or experience. I wanted a simple invite to try again and we'll make sure that experience never happens again. I WILL NEVER RETURN!
Pros: Atmosphere seemed sophisticated
Cons: Service, Food and Staff Behavior was Horrible
