Upon arriving at Shadowbrook and seeing the beautiful gardens and landscaping you can't help but anticipate that it will be a very special restaurant. Parking is high above the actual restaurant and you can either walk down the stairs and by the gardens to get into the restaurant or take a slanted elevator/trolley down the hillside. The restaurant is very pretty and inviting in a pleasant, rustic type of way -- quite a welcome change from the plethora of sleek contemporary restaurants that seem to abound these days. Unfortunately the food was merely adequate, some of it seemed like it might have been pre-prepared or even pre-packaged. Nothing we had was that special and it was overpriced. It would be a nice place to stop for a drink and perhaps an appetizer and to enjoy how pretty it is, but I cannot imagine bothering to have dinner there again.
Pros: beautiful setting
Cons: food just OK
