A group of us went to the Old Heidelberg to celebrate a birthday, and it was great! I had gone a few times long ago, but it was better this time. The food was authentic German food (I am familiar with German food), the service was very good with friendly and professional staff, and the live music made the place very cozy and friendly. Ever since the new ownership food quality has improved, and the minor remodelings of the place have definitely opened up the whole area. The band plays a variety of great music, and there are more than 60 different types of beers to choose from. We enjoyed our time there very much and would recomment it to anyone, we'll be going back for some more German food pretty soon.
