The ""Oasis"" is anything but. I have lived in Austin for 30 years and have visited the the Oasis many times over the years before it burned down. I knew the food was not great and overpriced, but the sunset view is always wonderful. My wife and I decided to give the new rebuilt restaurant a try around 6 PM on a Saturday. We were totally shocked. The restaurant went from something recognizable to a gigantic complex that looked more like a shopping center. The nearest parking was in a football size parking lot two blocks away from the front door that was packed. The restaurant looked like Grand Central Station at rush hour. We never did get a table to see the sunset. The food was still the average quality and presentation. But the worse part was the staff. They were rude and totally disinterested in the people that were paying their salary. The obvious problem to me is they have so much business they don't care who comes back. The lack of courtesy can only come from the management who is rolling in too much business. Be rest assured, we won't be back.
Pros: The view, if you can a decent table
Cons: food, location, and attitude of the management and staff
