Great Place to Eat on the Hill 10/23/2007

Gian-Tony's is a quaint little restaurant on the Hill. It seemed to be a popular place to eat, so making a reservation is advised. There is outdoor seating, although it was too cold the night we visited. There is smoking in the lounge when you walk in where a bar is located and there are also some tables there. There is no smoking in the remainder of the restaurant and you couldn't smell the smoke if you were in the dining area. The staff was very attentive and the kitchen offered many daily specials from appetizers to entrees and desserts. One of us got the tilapia special, which was a huge portion and came with a side of pasta (you could get a vegetable instead of pasta) and a salad. Another friend got a pasta primavara dish which she thought was excellent and light. The pasta dishes are ala carte. I got the broccoli and provel stuffed chicken with a side of pasta and salad. It was delicious! We also got 2 appetizers - the bruschetta (very good) and an eggplant spread, which was a special of the night. I'm not an eggplant fan, but the other two loved it. All in all, this is a great place to eat, with good, prompt service, a good ambiance, and great food. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the St. Louis area looking for a good Italian place on The Hill. Pros: Great food, great service Cons: Smoking allowed (but only in lounge) more
