I was recently in St. Louis for a family reunion, when I visited Hannegan's. I used to go to the Landing quite alot 20 years ago and wanted to revisit some of my old haunts. I didn't know what to expect when I ate at Hannegan's, or whether it was still there. Happily, it's still operating and doing a great job!\r

It's a beautiful place with lots of character. We sat at the gorgeous bar and had cocktails and we were never rushed. When we were ready to eat, we were seated at a cozy booth. Our server was well informed and suggested different menu items and wine to go with our choices. My strip steak was tender and juicy and cooked just like I like it. My husband got something called ""airline chicken"" or something, and loved the presentation and the tangy flavor of the barbeque sauce. I was stuffed and couldn't eat dessert, but my husband ordered the home-made ice cream mudpie, of course it took two of us to eat it.\r

I usually dont't write letters to businesses, especially since every place seems to settle for mediocre, but I was so pleased by our experience in St. Louis in general and Hannegan's in particular, that I thought I'd share it. I'm also sending a copy of this to Hannegans. I'ts so nice when you revisit someplace and they live up to everything you remember!
Pros: great atmosphere, food and service
Cons: pay parking
