Don't Bother 1/28/2007

After spending the past five years in Alabama with frequent trips to New Orleans, I was excited to fulfill my cravings of fried green tomatoes and crawfish. To be fair, I in now way expected my dining experience to be like my previous excursions along Bourbon Street and willing to look over the ""crayfish"" on the menu, however, I did expect good service and good food. Unfortunately, the experience did not include either one. First, the wait staff was pretty slow and unprofessional; not only did I get an eyeful of my waitress's pink bra it also took quite a while for her to wait on us despite the fact we were the only couple in her section. Second, the bread basket was full of toasted and some even burned bread (a little trick serve old, stale bread?). \r \r Grant it, these small annoyances are petty within the grand scheme of things and perhaps alone would not have made my dining experience so disappointing, yet the fact that they were out of a couple of main ingredients on the menu made the experience incredibly frustrating. With such a limited menu, how can they be out of green tomatoes, or for that matter, anything on the menu? \r \r Overall, the food was not too bad, but certainly not great and far from exceptional. If you want a nice Cajun meal, don' bopther and save the $$$$ and fry your own catfish. more
