Now I bring my boyfriend who is from London -- we both cook, we both appreciate great food (from fish and chips to the fanciest fare) and he loves it too.\r
I agree that over the years I have had better cheesecake (even learned to make one) but it is still a lovely cheesecake. And how about the pickles, coleslaw, beets and cornbread at the table even before you order?\r
The tunafish and brisket sandwiches are outstanding, the strawberry shortcake is criminal and they actually make some decent coffee. All of the trappings for a great diner/coffee shop that happens to have a real NY history. So why would you order (as did one disgruntled reviewer) a T-Bone and a lobster at a diner?\r
And to the reviewer who found the portions to be unfulfilling - where are you from? We usually can't move by the time we are done eating here. Juniors is what it is and it is absolutely worth a visit. Or ten.
