Sooo I have been to this spot quite a bit with East Coast folks that visit and also a few Fridays after work. While I generally have a good experience and enjoy the food/drinks, I went a little later than usual about two Fridays ago. Around 10pm to be exact. My fiance and his friend were both wearing hats, but with typical LA club gear---not thuggy at all-- and a huge bouncer type by the door stopped us with a dress code speech. He said that hats weren't allowed (first time I heard this there) and he could hold them if we wanted. As we were going to give him the hats, I noticed about 5 men scattered about in the restaurant with hats on. Baseball hats and winter-knit caps. I mentioned this to the bouncer and pointed them out to him. He just shrugged his shoulders and waited for our hats. When I asked him why the other folks were allowed, he just smiled and shrugged again. I don't usually pull the race card, but I was at a loss so, yes I went there. I asked if this was because we were not white, because they were allowed. He just looked at them again and turned back and smiled at us. Ok--maybe not an admission of racism and there could have been another reason, but he didn't give us one so we got out of there quick. They just lost a regular with me...
Pros: Good drink menu
Cons: Discriminating front door
